Franklin Spa has been continuously operating at the corner of Franklin & Spring Streets in Newport, RI for over 140 years.
We’re a family-run operation that believes in service to our community, hard work, and respect for our team.

We’re a breakfast joint. That means despite the early mornings, you’re done first thing in the afternoon. Working another industry job? We’re probably the exact opposite hours.
Not only that, we employ a flexible workforce. This means we have a variety of full-time, part-time, and as-needed shifts (season dependent).
📈 401k with Matching
We offer a 401k plan managed by Guideline. You’ll have access to manage your retirement account right from your phone.
Employees can receive up to a 6% match on 100% of their salary (based on years of service).
💵 Direct Deposit & Weekly Pay
We know that cash flow is important in the restaurant industry. That is why we offer weekly pay with direct deposit.
We also offer instant payout for eligible employees right through the Square Cash App - so you can get your paycheck an entire day early.

We’re empowering our team to get the information they need & give them the processes to make their job easier.
We utilize technology to manage our payroll, shift scheduling/availability/swaps, team communications, and training. You’ll have easy access to the resources you need to make you successful as part of the team.
Our POS is constantly evolving based on what our FOH team needs to succeed. We make decisions based on what is best for our team - not what is best for our wallet.

Franklin Spa offers three plans from Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Rhode Island to help meet all coverage needs. As of April 2024, we offer the following plans:

🦷 Vision & Dental Insurance
Show off those pearly whites - and be able to see them too! Thanks to our complimentary vision & dental insurance, you’ll have healthy teeth & eyes. You’ll have no problem reading a menu or flashing your great smile as part of the team.
Both plans are managed by United Healthcare.
Dental includes preventative care, a low deductible ($50 individual; $150 family), and high coverage limits for major items.
Vision includes $10 copay, $130 frame credit, a yearly exam, and more.
✅ Paid Training & Onboarding
We have an expectation that all new team members learn how our operation runs. This includes training shifts in all aspects of the business.
Every training shift is paid. You’ll be paired with a senior team member and receive daily feedback. We also provide you with an online training platform to help track your training & give you access to all the resources you need.

Before you get too scared - we’re not those owners. We come from a restaurant industry & labor union background. This is a longer way of saying: we give a sh*t about our staff.
At the core of our business is the team that makes everything happen. We have high expectations & operate a high-paced diner. However, you’ll find us running food, cleaning the grill, taking out the trash, and making the food.
We’re right alongside our team as they help move us forward - as it should be.
